Our Emergency room is fully equipped to handle all kinds of trauma and medical emergencies. All staff, including Doctors and Nurses in ER are well trained to handle any emergencies and are adept in the use of monitor and defibrillator. They are ably supported by 24-hour resident service of Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Gynaecology, Paediatrics and Anaesthesiology registrars/consultants and by on-call Cardiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgery consultants.

There are different protocols for handling various kinds of animal bites, poisoning and cardiac emergencies. Excellent trauma care and cardiac arrest response systems are followed. Most sophisticated ambulances, fully equipped with monitor, ventilator, defibrillator and well-trained personnel are available round-the-clock for any critical patients who need emergency transfer to IMDC. Besides an overhead paging system, we have an individual pager system for all on-call personnel. Conduction of regular mock codes is a continuous part of training of the staff. Our nurses are trained in Basic life support and in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and they attend CME programmes on a regular basis.

A Pharmacy situated in the entrance of the Hospital, which caters to inpatients and outpatients. All major medications are stocked and specialist medications can be arranged.
